Hey guys,

I saw this 1965 Porsche 356 SC for sale today for $33.5K. I nearly what my pants and I asked myself "did I find a gem!, can I sell this and get a nice 911 3.2 or SC to keep my 964 company!"

I sent the link to my mechanic and he said it looks good but seems fishy. I decided to take the leap of faith, but the owner said its sale is already pending. It is kinda pointless to keep day dreaming that I found something like this, but do you guys think this is real or a replica?

Thats a very well written ad, but it seems very cheap. Contact them and see. I bet it's real though

You know what they say, "if it's too good to be true, it probably is". Considering that's looking like it's in excellent condition, and NADA lists that car from $68-125k, it's probably a scam.

Yep, scam. Here's a link to the real sale. http://www.motoringinvestments.com/xc105.htm

Reverse image search shows all the same pictures.

It was sold 4 years ago, March 2009, for $75k. So the guy couldn't have owned it for 8 years.

Two things that make me suspicious:

1. 356Cs don't have badges on their hubcaps.

2. That "Made in Germany" stamp. I don't know, just doesn't feel right to me. I feel a proper 1960s german car needs a disclaimer written in proper bureaucratic german.

"The car can be seen / inspected with an appointment." - please bring cash

1. It's a scam, see my old post.

2. It's an SC, does that change the badge stuff? My knowledge of 1965 Porsches is pretty poor, so I don't know, but all the other pictures of legit cars (this one is legit too, but a scam) also have the emblem on the wheels.

1. I didn't read your post.

2. German Wikipedia says so. Did a quick comparison between a B and a C, actual difference is the shape of the hubcap, B is slghtly more complex than C. Then again some Cs have plain hubcaps without badge. Likely base models if there was such a thing.

3. Never said it wasn't genuine, looks way too good for a replica.
